Join in with Stephen King's 70th birthday celebrations!
It's Stephen King's 70th birthday on 21 September and we want UK libraries to help us celebrate one of our most beloved writers. We've got promotional packs to give away so you can create your displays and a brilliant prize including hardback copies of his newest book (published in September), Sleeping Beauties.
In partnership with Hodder & Stoughton, we're pleased to be giving away 100 promotional packs comprising of the following:
- 5 x A2 posters
- 25 bookmarks
- 1 x window cling
All participating libraries will be asked to share photos of their display on Twitter and Facebook, with the hashtag #KingOfTheLibraries to @ReadingAgency, @hodderbooks and via email. All display photos will be automatically entered into a competition to win an exclusive #KingOfTheLibraries merchandise pack including crowns, tote bags, badges and hardbacks of the new book, Sleeping Beauties.
About the book
In this spectacular father/son collaboration, Stephen King and Owen King tell the highest of high-stakes stories: what might happen if women disappeared from the world of men?
All around the world, something is happening to women when they fall asleep; they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed, the women become feral and spectacularly violent…
In the small town of Dooling, West Virginia, the virus is spreading through a women’s prison, affecting all the inmates except one. Soon, word spreads about the mysterious Evie, who seems able to sleep – and wake. Is she a medical anomaly or a demon to be slain?
The abandoned men, left to their increasingly primal devices, are fighting each other, while Dooling’s Sheriff, Lila Norcross, is just fighting to stay awake.
And the sleeping women are about to open their eyes to a new world altogether…
Please note the closing date for this offer is 27 August. This is open to all libraries, and we would recommend one pack per service point. If you order a pack, we do ask that you ensure the content is used in your libraries.
