*Available to all libraries*
The Wellcome Book Prize celebrates the best new books that engage with an aspect of medicine, health or illness, showcasing the breadth and depth of our encounters with medicine.
Both fiction and non-fiction titles are eligible for the prize, making for a fascinating selection of titles. Last year's winner was the powerful Mend the Living by Maylis de Kerangal, translated by Jessica Moore. It was the first novel in translation to be awarded the prize.
We are pleased to offer free promotional materials to promote this year's prize. With such a varied range of books submitted, this is a great promotion for widening reader choice.
Please place your orders as soon as possible, as we have a limited number of packs available. Maximum of one pack per library/service point.
Promotional packs will contain:
- Tote bag
Materials are free of charge and there is no charge for P&P, however, in return we expect you to send us pictures of the displays you make with the materials. (Excluding prison libraries, which will have a way to feedback without needing to take photos).
The best library display, on the theme of ‘Books for the Incurably Curious’, will win a special prize - two exclusive places at the award ceremony, held at the Wellcome Collection on Monday 30 April, plus reasonable travel costs.
The prize shortlist will be announced on Tuesday 20 March and the winner will be announced on Monday 30 April. Materials will be sent out after the shortlist announcement.
The deadline for ordering is 5pm on Friday 2 March, but we are likely to sell out before that date.
